City ready to cash in on OFSAA

Businesses in Brockville are gearing up for what will be the busiest three-day stretch of the summer.

The Ontario Federation of School Athletic Associations (OFSAA) track and field championships run at Thousand Islands Secondary School from Thursday until Saturday, and local hoteliers and restaurateurs are expecting to do a banner business from the estimated 5,000- plus people expected in Brockville for the games.

The city's economic development director said that it's difficult to predict the specific economic impact the championships will have, but that it will be large.
