Harper dashes to victory at Kawartha meet

PETERBOROUGH -- Michelle Harper was quite relaxed at her first high school track and field championship meet.

That could just be her personality, or the fact that she's trained with the Durham Dragons track club for the past two year. Maybe a little bit of both for the St. Mary's Secondary School athlete.

"Michelle Harper is a strong runner with energy abounding when she trains," said St. Mary's coach Gerard Forster. "She is still young in her life span as a track athlete, yet she handles competition, success and failure in a mature manner beyond her age.
