Brighton fundraising efforts for track on track
East Northumberland High School closing in on $850,000 goalMar 29, 2011 - 04:30 AMPAUL J. RELLINGERBRIGHTON -- East Northumberland Secondary School's quest for a new track is on schedule, and fundraising efforts are near complete.
It's been a little more than a year since the Quest for an ENSS Community Track and Sports Field began, and in that time, more than $661,000 has been raised. The most recent donation, made by Allen Insurance in Brighton, has inched fundraising efforts closer to the $850,000 goal needed to begin construction.
"Fundraising has been going so well," said Tim Larry, ENSS track coach, head of physical and health education and athletic director. "We've been going so hard over the past year, we've kind of needed to take a break, but fundraising has picked back up and we're close to our goal."
