All three -- Briawna, 18, Stephen Jr., 16, and Ashlin, 14 -- are long- and triple-jumpers and they act as coaches for the others in a way, checking the others' marks (proximity to the takeoff board), offering advice or just a shoulder to lean on.

With their results over the weekend at the West Regional championships at the University of Windsor, the younger two qualified for their first OFSAA championship meet next weekend in Brockville -- Ashlin in both midget girls' events, Stephen in the junior boys' triple jump. A chance to make it a rare three-sibling OFSAA vanished Saturday, though, when Briawna was eighth in the senior girls' long jump. Only the top four advance.
