A healthy rivalryTwo London Legion hurdlers hoping to represent Canada on the world stageBy Chris MontaniniUpdated 2 hours agoBy the time Sandy Cooper-Ryder can blurt out a stream of encouraging words for both Nicole Setterington and Christine MacNeill, the 100m hurdles event she's watching is over. Her go-to cheer is now, "let's go girls!" she said with a laugh. "Sometimes when I've attempted to say 'Christine' (or) 'Nicole,' it's over before I've got everyone's name in." But as a coach with the London Legion Track and Field Alliance, struggling to cheer on two lightning-fast teenagers isn't a bad problem to have. After battling each other throughout this year's high school track and field season, Setterington, from Oakridge secondary school, and MacNeill, from Central secondary school, finished first and second at OFSAA earlier this month.
