If lining up against more than 260 runners wasn't a daunting enough task, Quinn Cannella and Josh Kellier also had to battle history at the OFSAA cross-country championship.

The Chatham-Kent Golden Hawks teammates proved up for the challenge.

Each won an antique bronze for fourth place Saturday in Brampton to end a 14-year medal drought for Kent runners.

Golden Hawks coach Sharon Lesy told the duo about the enormity of their feat.

“She was really excited because it's not every day runners from C-K go to OFSAA,” said Cannella, 14, who's in Grade 9. “It felt good to represent Chatham-Kent at OFSAA.”
