WINDSOR — Anna Larsson of Sir John A. Macdonald and Angela Mercurio of St. Mary’s both won a pair of gold medals on Friday during the opening day of competition at the OFSAA West high school track and field championship.

Larsson took top spot in the midget triple jump and midget/junior pole vault events at the University of Windsor while Mercurio won the junior girls long jump and triple jump competitions. The top four finishers in each event advance to next week’s OFSAA championship in Brockville. The competition wraps up on Saturday.
